Correlation between Immunologic Parameters and Pdrformance Status in Stage IV Cancer Patients

Abstract
It is well known that immune function, especially cellular immunity is depressed in advanced cancer patients. Many authors have confirmed that anergy to DNCB is closely related to poor prognosis and recurrence after resection of cancer.
And also many authors reported that T lymphocyte in peripheral blood decreased in advanced cancer patient.
To evaluate of immunologic status, we used flow cytometry for lymphocyte subsets study and used Multi CMI kit for delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity. The purpose of this study was to observe the correlation of T lymphocyte subsets with the
reactions of
delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity in advanced cancer patients.
In advanced cancer patients, especially low performance status group total lymphocyte and T lymphocyte subsets decreased significantly in accordance with skin reactivity to recall antigens.
In some of high performance status group, there was no significant immunologic difference between the patients and normal control group.
